Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

Which personal data ClipZen processes, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and how you exercise your rights, under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. About this policy

ClipZen is the controller of the personal data processed in the service. This policy applies to ClipZen's website, dashboard and integrations.

You can talk to us about privacy, including with the person in charge of data protection (data protection officer), through the contact form (or by e-mail at clipzensuporte@gmail.com) or, if you have an account, in My Account → Privacy and data.

2. Data we process

  • Sign-up: name, e-mail, password (stored only in irreversible, hashed form) and, if you upload one, a profile picture.
  • Preferences: language, currency, time zone, theme and notification settings.
  • Technical and security data: IP address, browser and device type, access dates and times, and security logs. From the IP we estimate the country, only to suggest a language and currency (see section 11).
  • Your content: links and videos you send, transcripts, generated clips (including the caption-free version and the timed words), edits, templates, images, brand kit and projects.
  • Community: posts, comments, likes, reports and blocks.
  • Connected social networks: account identifier and name, permissions granted and access tokens — stored encrypted and never displayed — plus scheduled posts and their status.
  • Payments: plan, status and history of the subscription and credits. Card details are handled by the payment provider; we do not store them.
  • Competition prizes: payout registration (such as a Pix key or tax ID) is done with the payment provider; we only keep the reference it returns and the payment history.
  • Referrals: who referred whom and the related bonuses.
  • Communications: messages you send us and notifications sent to you.

3. Why we use it and on what legal basis

  • Providing the service — creating and keeping your account, processing videos, generating and editing clips, publishing when you ask, billing plans and delivering credits (performance of a contract).
  • Protecting the account and the service — preventing fraud, abuse, fake accounts and gaming of credits or competitions (legitimate interest and exercise of rights).
  • Improving ClipZen and fixing errors, using technical and usage data (legitimate interest, always with the minimum necessary).
  • Connecting social networks and sending optional communications (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
  • Complying with legal and regulatory obligations, such as tax rules and the retention of access logs required by Brazil's Internet Civil Framework (legal obligation).

We do not sell personal data and do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Who we share it with

We only share data with those who help us provide the service (processors), to the extent necessary and under confidentiality and security obligations:

  • infrastructure, hosting and file storage;
  • transcription and artificial intelligence — currently Groq, which processes the videos' audio and text to produce transcripts, headlines and suggestions;
  • payment processing — currently Stripe;
  • competition prize payouts — currently Asaas;
  • transactional e-mail (account verification, password reset and notices);
  • error monitoring, to find and fix technical faults;
  • Instagram (Meta) and TikTok, when you connect an account and publish through them;
  • video platforms such as YouTube and Twitch, from which we fetch the video whose link you provided.

We may also share data when required by law or by order of a competent authority, or to protect the rights of ClipZen and others. What you post in the community is visible to the other members.

5. Instagram and TikTok

When you connect an Instagram or TikTok account, you authorize ClipZen on the platform's own official screen. We access only what is needed to publish what you ask for:

  • Instagram (Meta): the professional account's identifier, username, name and profile picture, and permission to publish Reels (instagram_business_basic and instagram_business_content_publish). We also check how many posts the account made through the API in the last 24 hours, to respect the platform's limit.
  • TikTok: the account identifier, display name and profile picture (user.info.basic), and permission to publish videos (video.publish), including the privacy options your account allows.
  • We do not read messages, comments, followers, metrics or any other content of your accounts, and we never publish anything you did not ask for, right away or scheduled.

Access tokens are stored encrypted and deleted when you disconnect the account. The history of posts made through ClipZen stays in your ClipZen account until you delete it or the account. This data is also subject to Meta's and TikTok's terms and privacy policies.

Authorization uses official apps approved by Meta and TikTok that also serve Autofy, another product run by the same people behind ClipZen, so the authorization screen may show that name. Each product's accounts, tokens and data are separate: what you authorize on ClipZen is used only by ClipZen and is never shared with Autofy.

To remove access, disconnect the account in Publications → Connected accounts, or revoke it in Instagram's or TikTok's own settings. The full steps are in Data deletion.

6. International transfers

Some processors are located outside Brazil, for example in the United States. In those cases, the transfer follows the grounds allowed by the LGPD (and the GDPR where applicable), such as contractual clauses and equivalent protection safeguards.

7. How long we keep it

  • Account data: while the account exists.
  • Videos, clips, templates and other content: until you delete them or the account is deleted. Temporary files used during processing are deleted when each job ends.
  • Access logs: for the minimum of 6 months required by Brazil's Internet Civil Framework, and longer only if needed for security or required by law.
  • Financial, tax and prize data: for the period required by law.

When an account is deleted, we delete or anonymise the data, except what we must keep by law or to exercise rights in legal proceedings.

8. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect data: encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, encrypted social network tokens, temporary signed links to access videos, per-account access control and limits against abuse.

No system is completely immune to incidents. If an incident may cause significant risk or harm, we will notify you and the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD), as required by law.

9. Your rights

At any time, you may:

  • confirm whether we process your data and access it;
  • correct incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data;
  • ask for anonymisation, blocking or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data, or data processed unlawfully;
  • ask for data portability;
  • ask for deletion of data processed on the basis of your consent and withdraw that consent;
  • find out who we share your data with;
  • ask for a review of decisions made solely on automated processing;
  • complain to the ANPD, to your local data protection authority or to consumer protection bodies.

To exercise these rights, use My Account → Privacy and data, where you can download a copy of your data and request account deletion, or the contact form (or by e-mail at clipzensuporte@gmail.com). We reply within 15 days and may ask for information to confirm your identity.

10. Automated decisions

Some steps are automatic: choosing the segments of a video, the viral-potential score and the calculation of competition rankings. They have no legal effect on you beyond the use of the service. If you disagree with an automated decision that affects your interests, such as your position in a competition, you can ask for a review through the contact form (or by e-mail at clipzensuporte@gmail.com).

11. Cookies, local storage and approximate location

ClipZen uses browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. Details in the Cookie Policy.

To suggest a language and currency, we estimate the country from the IP address with a local DB-IP database (CC BY 4.0 licence). The IP is not sent to third parties for this, and the estimate is not used for any other purpose.

12. Children and teenagers

ClipZen is not intended for anyone under 18. If we learn that we collected data from a child or teenager without the authorisation required by law, we will delete it.

13. Changes

We may update this policy. We will announce significant changes in the app or by e-mail. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
